Public debate videos

After the BP final, the top four speakers of the competition took part in two public debates with experts in the field of European democracy and minortiy rights. In the first debate Arnoldas Pranckevičius, senior advisor to the President of the European Parliament, Peter Matjasic of the European Youth Forum, Karl Läll from Estonia and Adriana Panait from Romania spoke about the need to include youth more in its democratic procedures and how this should be done. This was followed by a discussion between Valeriu Nicolae of the Policy Centre for Roma and Minorities in Bucharest and Jef Helmer of Spolu International, Teodora Stolevska from Macedonia and Mojmir Stehlik from Slovakia. They debated whether the EU should impose fines on member states that violated the rights of minorities like the Roma.
